About Gastro Florida - Offices

History of Gastro Florida

Recognizing the need to unify many small practices in Tampa Bay, several physician leaders began to hold meetings in 2008 to survey the level of interest in forming a single group. Gastro Florida was formed in September 2010 from 8 local independent gastroenterology groups. In January 2013, Dr. John Ahn, as well as Gulf Coast Gastroenterology in Palm Harbor became the 9th and 10th groups to affiliate with Gastro Florida. In late 2014, Gastro Florida expanded into Hillsborough County with the addition of Dr. Leopoldo Grauer’s and Dr. Alan Weintraub’s individual offices. In January 2015, Westchase Gastroenterology and Dr. John Delgado’s practices both joined to bring the total to 14 practices group-wide. Gastro Florida continues to improve and expand each year.

On September 1st, 2015 Gastro Florida proudly celebrated its fifth anniversary. Today we are the largest GI group in Tampa Bay with over 50 providers and 25 locations across Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Polk counties. As a physician-owned partnership, Gastro Florida serves its member practices and works collaboratively with local health systems to meet the digestive care needs of our community, one patient at a time.
