About Zachary Sherman, M.D.
Dr. Zachary Sherman is originally from Albany, New York. He went to college at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where he graduated summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He briefly worked in consulting in New York City before pursuing a career change in medicine. Dr. Sherman went to medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Weill Cornell/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. After his residency, he was a chief resident for one year, followed by three years of gastroenterology fellowship, also at Weill Cornell.
Dr. Sherman is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Sherman is excited to be practicing in the Tampa Bay Area, where he is able to be closer to family, after 14 years in New York City. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his wife, three children, and dog, and is also an avid endurance athlete, having completed 7 marathons and frequent early morning Peloton rides.
