About Milan Patel, M.D.
Dr. Patel obtained his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in Georgia. He then completed three years of Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Cooper University Hospital (UMDNJ). Dr. Patel also completed an additional subspecialty training year in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy (Interventional Gastroenterology) for complex endoscopic procedures at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 2017. Dr. Patel has previously treated patients in the private practice setting in Northern Virginia and worked in the VA system, and brings a broad scope of knowledge and experience before joining Gastro Florida in 2019. He is a member of The American Gastroenterology Association, The American College of Gastroenterology, and The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is also board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). His wife and newborn son accompany Dr. Patel. His wife (a hematologist/oncologist) was raised in the Tampa Bay area, and her family still lives here, and they are very excited to get back together. Dr. Patel is an avid sports fan and now follows the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Devil Rays. He also enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.
