About Lijian Wang, M.D.
Dr. Lijian Wang, M.D., D.Sc., is a board-certified gastroenterologist who joined Gastro Florida in August 2025. He brings nearly a decade of experience in gastroenterology and internal medicine, along with a distinguished academic and research background.
Dr. Wang earned his medical degree from Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in Beijing and later completed a Doctor of Science degree in Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Before joining Gastro Florida, Dr. Wang practiced at Watson Clinic and Lakeland Regional Health from 2016 to 2024. His clinical and research interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal motility disorders, gut immunology, iron metabolism, pediatric gastroenterology, and nutrition. He has conducted research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and his work has been published in leading journals including The Journal of Clinical Investigation, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, Innate Immunity, PLOS ONE, and the World Journal of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Wang is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). His academic achievements have been recognized with honors such as the Wyeth Fellowship and the NIH Fogarty Fellowship, as well as multiple awards from both Chinese and international medical institutions.
With his diverse expertise and dedication to patient care, Dr. Wang is committed to delivering comprehensive and compassionate gastroenterology services to the community.
