About Obada Tabbaa, M.D.
Gastro Florida is pleased to welcome Dr. Obada Tabbaa, a board-certified gastroenterologist with specialized training in advanced endoscopy. Dr. Tabbaa brings a strong background in both outpatient and inpatient care and is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. His clinical interests span inflammatory bowel disease, advanced endoscopic procedures, and complex digestive disorders.
Dr. Tabbaa completed his medical education at Damascus University in Syria then went on to pursue residency in Internal Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He remained at Georgetown for his Gastroenterology fellowship, serving as Chief Fellow, and then pursued an additional year of fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy.
Dr. Tabbaa is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and maintains ACLS certification. He has presented his research nationally through the American College of Gastroenterology and published studies on topics such as fecal microbiota transplantation and the management of rare gastrointestinal cancers.
Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr. Tabbaa offers culturally competent care to a diverse patient population. Outside of clinical work, he enjoys swimming, basketball, weightlifting, and exploring new developments in technology and fitness.
